ABOUT ME
JOCK MACDONALD
Actor. Writer. Director. Coach.

With more than 50 years of professional experience in the United States, Canada, and Europe, Jock MacDonald has built a career spanning stage, film, television, and directing. Today he works as a private coach for actors and directors preparing for film and television projects.

As an actor, Jock has appeared in numerous prime-time and daytime television series, performing in both sitcoms and dramatic roles. His film work includes major roles in studio releases and independent productions. On stage, he has performed leading roles in regional theaters across the United States and starred in the title role of an award-winning Off-Broadway production.

Alongside his work as an actor, director, and writer, Jock has long been committed to supporting the next generation of artists. Throughout his career, he has led professional workshops, taught at universities across North America, and coached actors, writers, and directors working in film, television, and theater.

Today his private coaching focuses on helping artists prepare for the demands of professional production. His approach centers on story, emotional continuity, and the unique creative voice each actor brings to the work.

Rather than teaching actors to imitate a particular technique, Jock helps them discover what is already present in their own instrument — their individual way of acting. That philosophy has guided his work for decades and continues to shape the artists he coaches today.
