CONSULTING FOR DIRECTORS & WRITERS
I work with directors and writers at every stage of production — from development through post. This isn't technique for technique's sake. Every conversation comes back to the same question: is the story alive?
What this looks like in practice:
📖 Page Turns & Script Development
Working through a script page by page — finding where the story breathes, where it doesn't, and what needs to change.
🎭 Casting Consultation
Helping directors identify the right actors for the right roles — with an eye for truth, not just type.
✏️ Rewrites & Edits
Working with writers to refine dialogue, sharpen character, and protect the heart of the story.
🎬 Working With Actors
Helping directors get real performances — on set, in prep, or in the room.
🤝 Creative Consultation
A thought partner for directors navigating the creative and collaborative challenges of production.
Currently consulting on active productions for Prime Video, Hulu, and Sky.

THE SHAKESPEARE INTENSIVE
The overwhelming success of Hamnet has reminded the industry of something actors have always known — Shakespeare is not a niche skill. It's the foundation of everything.
Actors who can handle Shakespeare's language, verse, and emotional complexity find that every other genre becomes easier. The demands of the text force you to be present, specific, and truthful in a way that nothing else does.
This 8-session intensive is built around that premise.
You don't need to be a classical actor. You don't need prior Shakespeare experience. You need to want to go deeper into the work — and be willing to let it change how you act in everything else.
What you'll develop:
— Command of heightened language under pressure
— The ability to find emotional truth in any text
— Presence, specificity, and physical commitment
— Skills that translate directly to film, television, and contemporary theatre
How it works:
Sessions 1–4: Monologue work
Sessions 5–8: Scene work
Actors can begin at any time. You purchase 8 sessions and we build a schedule that works for you.
💲 $450 — discounts available for AFF, and Union members
📅 Flexible start — contact to begin

THE LOS ANGELES WORKSHOP
🎭 Los Angeles In-Person Acting Workshops
with Jock MacDonald
A Workshop Unlike Any Other
From New York to Paris, I’ve led in-person acting workshops for decades — working with actors in New York, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Dublin, and Paris. Now, for the first time, I’m bringing this work to Los Angeles.
This isn’t about learning another “method” or “technique.” It’s about discovering your own way of acting — the unique truth and presence that’s already inside you. My role is to help you strip away what’s in the way so you can step into that truth fully, whether on stage, on camera, or in the audition room.
What You’ll Experience
-
Scene + Monologue Work
Perform and receive live, in-depth coaching. -
Hands-On Guidance
Real-time discoveries and adjustments in the room. -
Personalized Approach
Not tricks or shortcuts — but helping you uncover the actor you already are. -
Small Groups
Limited actors per workshop to ensure maximum attention and growth. -
Why This Matters
Actors often get stuck trying to fit into someone else’s process. The industry pushes techniques, methods, and “shoulds” that can leave you disconnected from yourself.
These workshops are different. Together, we’ll focus on unlocking your truth as an actor — so your auditions come alive, your self-tapes stand out, and your performances connect deeply with audiences.
